But does five minutes of fame and a mere 22 years on the planet really merit an autobiography?

It seems that publishers Random House think so, and the rumour is that Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton has been offered a £300,000 deal for her life story.

She will join other young stars soon to write their memoirs in their early twenties, including Wayne Rooney and Billie Piper.

We can't think that a job as a Paris Hilton lookalike and a stint in the Big Brother House will provide too much in the way of worldly wisdom and life lessons.

But we're sure there'll be plenty of people interested in hearing what she's got to say, from her Essex upbringing to her relationship with fellow Big Bro housemate Preston.

Don't start placing your advance orders yet, though. A spokeswoman for Random House refused to comment.
